It's been a While

Alright I'll admit it, I am horrible when it comes to blogging. In fact, I'm just terrible in staying updated with my social media. The only true place you are able to find me staying active is on Instagram, even then I'm slugging on. Still, I fight strong and keep creating content that make me smile and sane. So this entry is mostly about my plans and dreams that I have in mind. Some will be accomplished and some will....well not all ideas could stay. Still, if you never start on a project the thought of "What If" will always stay in mind.

Like I said, the goal is to be more active on social media. While its been a good start I still have the rest of the year to go. Now it does feels like a waist of time to be blogging, but you never know who is watching, well reading. This upcoming weekend I'll be doing my first session of the year and I'll be time-lapsing the event. Seeing if I could build some B-rolls and get something going for your viewing pleasure.

Cheers! It's finally 2018 and now it's time to get some goals going for the year. So, lets get this running and make the year that much better. I do have to start by saying that 2017 was a great year for me. Made new friends, travel a little more than years before, and achieved new goals in my career. Biggest accomplishment was the installment of my weightless series. It found it's way to in Oklahoma and California. So lets get 2018 started and what it has to bring.

Weightless

So I have created a photo series called "Weightless". It started as a project for fun and slowly became something I would never imagine. I won't get in too much detail. Wouldn't want to be a buzzkill, but I actually have struggled from depression and know a great deal of friends who have had the same experience. When I proceeded with this project the more It clicked. The more I realize it was coming a personal experience and grew attach with the idea.

So, I wan't you to imagine a void of endless water. As we all know the deeper we go the stronger the pressure becomes. Now think about it as an emotion. Sometimes the most happiest person on earth are the most depressed. When we try to visual this, it becomes hard to explain. Even with this series, it could get a little hard to understand without some type of explanation.

This series is an interpretation of this emotion. A visual representation of anxiety and depression. When you see these photos, you see someone that is free. An elegant model floating in air and is free spirited. Not knowing how much pressure they encounter in being an endless void of water. We only know what is happening from the outside. Never stopping to think how much they are suffering from the inside.

This is my dedication for everyone who is currently suffering or have had suffered from anxiety.

Sidnea w/ Glitter

So I had a random thought. As a joke I contacted Sidnea if I could cover her in glitter. Never in my mind would I of imagine her in saying yes. Then I got stuck as to how I was going to accomplish this set. What film should I use and how should it be done. Well I decided to do it outdoors and really play with her red hair and pair it with gold and green. The film of choice was Ektra 100 for its high contrast and vivid colors.

Enjoy..

Nebby has become one of the greatest inspiration for my photography career. For this shoot, she was worried that her hair was going to be too wild. I told her nonsense and rock it. Turn out to be one of the most funnest shoot I have done with her.

Dia De Los Muertos

I'm a little behind in sharing this but better late than never. So, Dia the Los Muertos is a holiday that is shared in the hispanic community. It's a day we remember our lost family and friends. To remember that even when all life comes to an end. We could find beauty in the most tragic of times. Taking the time to remember someone and share their stories. To my tio Jose and my abuelita Maria. To all my friends that have passed away. I still share your stories and my memories. I love you.

Mac and Molly are an inseparable pair. They're roomies and definitely feed from each other energy. Trust, once you get them going. THEY WONT STOP! Still, they have always been the life of the party. Since they been living together for over 2 years. They thought it would be appropriate to take family portraits.
